The Chepstow and District Amateur Radio Society are affiliated to the Radio Society of Great Britain. Our club call sign is GW4LWZ which has been linked to Chepstow for many years.

Our membership includes people of all ages with a variety of interests in radio.

C&DARS meet informally from 7:30pm on the first Tuesday & Third Tuesday of every month.  Like many clubs during lockdown we "hibernated" and when we emerged our numbers were rather diminished. So over the past two years we've been rebuilding the club.

At the present time the club has no formal calendar of events. We are concentrating on two fronts. Primarily we are a social group that meets at a very convivial venue which is the Chepstow Athletic Club*.

Some evenings we get together and just catch up. Other times during the summer we will use the patio area and might rig up a temporary radio station. Other popular events are the "bring a thing" evening. Here members bring some radio treasure and speak on it for perhaps 10 minutes. As we continue to grow it is hoped to invite guest speakers.

Trips out to radio rallies are organised and usually a seat will be found for those without transport.

Finally, we especially welcome people starting out on their radio journey.  You do not need a licence to join us and we will endeavour to help and advise you if you do wish to study for the licence exams. We can point you towards some excellent distance learning opportunities which are mostly free of charge, and during the course, we can mentor you
as you progress towards examination.

If you would like to find out more information about C&DARS membership, events or training please feel free to get in contact with us by heading to the Contacts page. We look forward to hearing from you. Our constitution can be read here.
